"Trouble Areas"
Back Fat – caused by: Genes & poor-fitting clothes
Lumps and rolls on the upper back/around the bra line can be bothersome and hard to hide. While back fat can sometimes be due to genetics, not wearing a properly fitted bra can also be cause for unsightly back fat. When the back band on your bra is too tight or ill-fitting, it can create a bulge where the fabric is digging into the skin.**
**Make sure you come into our office at the Perimeter location and visit Laura in our lingerie shop, Artisan Undies. She is highly knowledgeable and can absolutely help you in getting into a correct fitting bra. Many women buy and wear bras that are ill-fitting and don't even know it. It takes getting fitted by a professional like Laura for you to realize that you have been sporting a bra that does not really fit you properly.
Arm Fat – caused by: Weight gain
Arms are usually one of the last areas people gain weight on their body because they contain fewer fat cells than other areas. Basically, fat is stored in your arms when there is nowhere else for it to go—creating sagging or "flabby" arms.
Belly Fat – caused by: Empty calories & fat
This is probably the most popular trouble area and due to empty calories and fat from foods –sugars and refined carbohydrates. If you can pinch your stomach and there is fat, then that fat is considered superficial (or on the surface), which can be addressed surgically. If your stomach protrudes and almost swollen, it is more likely the fat is deep and needs to first be addressed by exercise and diet. The best exercise to combat the belly is cardiovascular.
Butt Fat – caused by: Genes & body shape
Genes are partially responsible for the fat that accumulates in your rear, the other culprit is just the shape of your body. For instance, pear-shaped bodies naturally tend to carry extra weight in their butts.
Thigh Fat (Saddlebags) – caused by: Gender & the aging process
The thighs and hip area (that we so lovingly refer to as the saddlebags) can be the hardest area to target. Gender and genetics are two components that determine how our bodies respond to fat—this is especially true to the thigh area. As we age, we naturally burn fewer calories and the fat that gets deposited in the thighs tends to be thicker in nature causing your figure to lose its definition.
